The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan, is looking to appoint a Legal Advisor (MP-I) in Islamabad. This is a senior-level position for an experienced legal professional who can guide the ministry on international law and diplomatic matters.
As the Legal Advisor, you will provide legal opinions on treaties, international agreements, and foreign policy issues. You will assist in reviewing and drafting legal documents, ensure compliance with international obligations, and support Pakistan’s representation in global legal forums.
The position requires deep knowledge of international law and experience in handling complex legal cases. You must be a licensed or practicing advocate in Pakistan with proven expertise in advising government or international organizations.
This role offers a three-year appointment, extendable based on performance. It provides a chance to contribute directly to Pakistan’s legal and diplomatic framework while working at the center of the country’s foreign affairs operations.

The above post shall be filled on open merit basis initially for a period of three (03) years, which is further extendable for a maximum period of two (02) additional years, subject to satisfactory performance. As per shortlisting criteria, a maximum of fifteen (15) eligible candidates for the position, or any applicants having equal merit in the last position, may be shortlisted and invited for interview.
