Eligibility Criteria

Assistant Professor

To be eligible for the position of Assistant Professor, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Must be a core/relevant graduate engineer registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).

Hold a Ph.D. degree in the relevant engineering discipline from a Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized institution.

Maintain a strong academic background with at least First Class standing (minimum 70% marks or a 3.00/4.00 CGPA).

Completion of an Intermediate Level Teaching or OBE Training Course is compulsory.

Must have at least two research publications in HEC/PEC recognized journals, with one in a W-category journal and one in an X-category journal, showing clear evidence of academic contribution.

Demonstrated experience in student mentoring, having supervised at least three Final Year Projects (FYPs) or equivalent industry-based projects.

Associate Professor

For appointment as an Associate Professor, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

Be a core/relevant graduate engineer, duly registered with PEC, holding a Ph.D. degree from an HEC-recognized institution.

Maintain First Class academic standing (minimum 70% marks or a 3.00/4.00 CGPA).

Completion of an Advanced Teaching or OBE Training Course is required.

Must hold at least one membership in an international professional body in the relevant/core discipline.

Have served as an Assistant Professor for at least six years in a recognized university/HEI.

For candidates with industry experience: at least three years in industry plus three years in academia is acceptable.

Alternatively, candidates holding an MS degree with 15 years of professional experience in a reputable industry may also be considered.

Must have 15 publications in HEC/PEC recognized journals (10 in W-category, 5 in X-category). At least five of these publications should be from the last five years, and authorship must be within the first four authors.

Proven research supervision record, having successfully supervised at least 2 MS theses (completed) and 1 Ph.D. thesis (completed).

Supervision of a minimum of 5 Final Year Projects (FYPs) or equivalent industry projects is also required.

Responsibilities
 

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Electrical and Computer Engineering, focusing on topics such as Signal Processing, Embedded Systems, and Communication Systems.
• Develop and enhance curriculum materials, ensuring alignment with current industry standards and practices.
• Conduct research in specialized areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering and publish findings in recognized academic journals.
• Supervise and mentor students on their final year projects and industry-related projects, providing guidance and expertise to enhance their learning experience.
• Engage in community outreach and promote the department's research initiatives to attract potential students and funding opportunities.
• Participate in departmental and university meetings to contribute to the strategic planning and development of the department.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering and integrate this knowledge into the curriculum.
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary research projects and foster a supportive environment for academic growth.
• Assist in the preparation of accreditation reports and ensure compliance with educational standards as prescribed by HEC/PEC.
• Provide academic advising and support to students, guiding them through their educational journeys and career aspirations.
